Question:

Heater core to water pump.?

Ok, simple question, on a 1992 Jeep Cherokee 4.0. The water pump sucks water (not push) through the heater core correct? So the flow of water goes from the block, through the heater core, into the water pump, right?

Answer:

If you have air pockets it will block water flow, usually to the heater core, since this is the highest point in the system. To remove air pockets, do the following. Make sure engine is cold. Jackup front of car, park on a steep incline or drive on ramps to raise the front of the vehicle. Remove the radiator cap. Run the engine a bit. This should move the air pockets out the filler neck of the radiator. Turn off engine, top off fluid and put cap back on.
wrong...... water pump..... means it pumps water.... the hose that comes off the water pump pumps water through the heater core and back out the the thermostat. if i remember if u dont have any over heating issues then dont worry about it...... if it dosent over heat theres not a problem..... the water pump is bad if its leaking or the bearings are bad.
The heater middle is placed on the passenger edge on the firewall. From the water pump there'll be 2 small strains going into the black container on the firewall. The heater middle is interior the container. you have gotten a undesirable radiator hose. this is the extra value-effective restoration. If it replaced into the water pump, your automobile could over warmth in minutes. the warmth interior the automobile would desire to be from a vent door caught open interior the heater container.
Your water pump pulls cool water from the radiator and pumps into the block. If by heater core you mean the heat inside you jeep I believe it pumps thru the radiator. if you have a automatic transmission sometime it cools thru the radiator. I don't know that much about how jeeps work they might be connected different but the way I described is the usual way on most models.
the pump does what it say pump.... it flows thru the radiator to the block and back ..... if you having a problem with heat then it could be stoped up and need a new one .... over heating therostat.... id say yes it sucks thru the motor if the hose is hook to the motor
