Getting frustrated, People said the i3's better for gaming but the bulldozer i want is 3.6Ghz and Quad Core, i don't see how a 2 core 3.1Ghz would beat that and also its more expensive? Suggestions?
Well it wouldn't put a dual core against a quad core in any race but at the moment the Intel's are better in bench marks...just not in price. For gaming I would go with the consensus of opinion which is the Intel i5-2500K is best all round gaming CPU. The FX 4100 is a bit low on the totem pole for me...the 6200 is better and reasonably close to the 2500K performance. Even the A8-3850 has better bench marks than the 4100 and the 3850 has built in 6650 graphics...when CrossfiredX with a 6670 GPU it suppose the produce up to a 6800 series graphs...more than enough for gaming. The 3850 on its own can play Skyrim quite well!
Since you didn't post the model #s of either the Intel or AMD processors, the best I can do is refer you to the link below for benchmarking results (find the exact model # of each processor that you're considering compare them).
If we put a i3 against the fx -4100 the fx -4100 will win when it comes to gaming , the i3 is more of a entry level gaming processor but good for multi-tasking, you price wise the bulldozer is more bang for the bucks and don't let people tell you that amd overheats my older amd processors are running fine
