I hate the rubber sheet analogy for just this reason. It blinds the mind more than it reveals any sort of truth. The models you are trying to extend are *simple*, for illustrative purposes only. Warped spacetime is 4D, and not limited to 2D plus time. Just understand that even Newtonian gravity cannot be used to correctly solve a simple three body gravitation problem (say Sun-Earth-Moon), and Einstein does not make that problem *any* easier. Yes the warps all act on one another. The Moon operates above and below the plane the Earth orbits the Sun, and the Sun orbits above and below the plane that the average of stars orbits around the Milky Way. The distances are only too great for gravitation above the scale of superclusters. Falling space and swelling planet surfaces do not describe the Universe you are in. It fails in three body problems too, in finite time.
It's called Mac (Media Access Control) Filtering. Depending how the machine is going to access the router, you'll need to get either the LAN mac address (if you're using a cat5 cable to connect to a switchport on the back of the router) or WLAN mac address (for wireless). Once you obtain the mac address just add it to the mac filtering list on your router. Once that is done the new mac will be able to obtain a local address from the router and thus join your local network. Now if you have any trouble you can always turn off mac filtering and rely on your authentication protocals until you get it figured out. Hope this helps.
