I have to construct this model of an element of my choice (i thinkk im choosing aluminum)however, i do not understand the model AT ALL! all i know is that it differs from bohr modelthe first level has 2 electrons, 2nd level starts with 2 electrons then however many in the dumbbellsand i cant find a picture or explanation anywhere online that is understandable for an 9th grader! can anybody explain this to me? or help find a good site? how many dumbbells are in each energy level? and how many electrons are in each dumbbell? and how many electrons are in the 2nd level (including all-the ones in dumbbell and the 2 electrons that arent in dumbbell)???? sooo confused.pleaseeee help! thank you!
The shells are divided up into s, p, d and f subshells or orbitalsLevel 1 has only an s orbitalIt holds 2 electronsLevel 2 has an s orbital (2 electrons) and 3 p orbitals (2 electrons each for a total of 6)So level 2 holds 8 electronsLevel 3 has an s, 3 p and 5 d orbitals with 2 eachWhen level 3 is full, there are 2 + 6 + 10 18 electronsThe s orbitals are spheresThe p orbitals are the dumbbells I think you're talking aboutI'm not sure what you heard about different amounts of electronsEach p orbital can hold 2 electrons, and there are three p orbitals on every level above level 1.
I'm not aware of your classifications of pulleys but I know a good applications of a movable pulleysIn this type they called it chain blocksIt is use to move heavy types of machineries from one part of a shop to another place.
pulleys reduce weight when lifting things if aligned properly
