Question:

Help with a Geometry problem?

I need to know this problem:Btw a silo is a hemisphere on top of a cylinder. :)The height of the cylinder is 30 ft. The diameter of the hemispheric part is 10 ft. The inside of the silo is to be painted. If you can buy full cans of paint, how many paint will you need to buy if one can covers 280 square ft?**Thank you so much! 5stars**

Answer:

cylinder area: A = 2pi*r*h = 10pi * 30 = 942 ft? hemisphere area: A' = 2pi*r? = 50pi = 157 ft? Total area = 1100 ft? 1100 / 280 = 3.93 so 4 cans of paint should do it.
