Help with math please?

A builder wants to make a model of the silo shown at the right. find the height and diameter of the model for each scale.1. 1 in : 2 1/2 ft2. 1 in : 5 ft3. 1 in : 3 1/3 ft4. 1 in : 6 ftYes i know theres no silo , thats why i need help :(

Answer:

We can't generate the right silo out of thin air for you. You need the dimensions of the actual silo. Then you proceed as follows: Let h = real height of silo (say it's 30 feet) and d = diameter (say it's 10 feet). (I have no idea how big a silo is - I just made up those numbers). Then you divide by the scale: So let's look at #2 for example. h = 30 = 6 * 5 feet So height of model = 6 inches d =10 = 2 * 5 feet So diameter of model = 2 inches. In order of size, they would be: #1 (largest, twice as big as #2) #3 #2 #6 (smallest: 5/6 the size of #2)
