crackling noise ? did you check the exhaust pipe and the transmission pan ? if there is no leaks then the transmission pan or lines are not leaking ! you might want to check the exhaust pipe to see if it got bent !

My one has just a pocket on the side that hinges out and the battery is attached there and after replacing the battery it just hinge closed again, if that is any help. Just feel around the edge fooling for a crack Chetak
