Ok so I need I make the horns, I'm cosplaying a trollEveryone told me to get air dry clay, so I got basic crayola air dry clay and made some hornsBut these were super heavy! I couldn't even look up or down because they would fall off! What kind of clay should I get that's cheap and feather light?
There's no such thing as an attractor of heatis there?
not reallyit is however, an EXCELLENT conductor of heatSo it will radiate and conduct the heat very easilybut it wont hold it for long.
aluminu foil is a good conductor of heat, but its thin and cools off quickly
Look for model magicMany cosplayers use model magic; it barely weighs anythingIt does tend to crack a bit as it dries, but the cracks can easily be filled in with wall spackle, glue, or paintAlso, since they dry with a sort of spongey feel, don't worry about the horns breaking if you drop them! I've heard that paperclay also dries pretty light and is easy to work withSome people prefer it to model magicHowever, I personally don't recommend making horns entirely out of clay, no matter which brand you pickClay is expensive, and I know that with Model Magic at least you don't get too much per packageI would advise you to make a 'core' for each horn out of aluminum foilJust wad it up into the general shape you want your horns to be, and then sculpt the clay over the frameEven if you use a clay that doesn't dry weightless, with an aluminum foil core, the horns should still be lightweightBest of luck with your cosplay!
