Today, I was testing a fire alarm system in a solvent godown where I didn't want to lit a fire to create smoke, so godown owner told me to use dry ice to produce smoke. I also thought that being optical it would work, where as it didn't. At last I lit an issense stick to produce smoke. Now I want to know how an optical smoke detector functions?
