I lately have experienced some behavioral issues with my son and have learned that food additives such as BHA and BHT could be the problem because they may cause my sons behavior to worsen. He is already at a disadvantaged because both my husband and I were diagnosed with ADHD back in the 80‘s (we are the same age) so how can i assure that he‘s not getting these additives if the food companies don‘t put them on the box. I know that a box of cornflakes I bought today has them in it, does anyone know of what other things that my son eats contains these horrible preservatives. Also if anyone knows a good book that I can purchase about what to look for, I would appreciate it.Thanks!

I think you would do best by looking these up in a good encyclopedia. The Encyclopedia of Chemical Technology is an industry source which some libraries have. Unfortunately, it is pretty technical for most people and does not have a lot on the toxicology. In general, no food additives are good for one. BHA BHT are used to prolong the shelf life. That is no longer necessary in the developed world. It takes a lot more time to find foods without additives but it is worth the effort.
