I have a 1996 Volvo 960 and the car alarm will go off (horn chirps, parking lights flash, LED light on dash blinks rapidly) at random and stay on. It has caused my car battery to die numerous times. How can I permanently disable or uninstall it? Thanks!
Near the battery there should be a fuse just for the alarm system, pull that fuse, that will disarm the system, also might stop your remote doors ,if you have them.
The only way i know of to where you can get an idea of how it will sound is search the net like you tube and search your car and exhaust you are looking for. thats what i did before i bought my exhaust on my truck.
Try the manufactures website for the brands you are looking at. A lot of them will have samples of what they will sound like.
Underneath the dash you should find a very small red button(it is hard to find, but usually under the drivers side). Push and hold it in for 5 seconds. This should disable the system.
Follow the red wire from your alarm system,and you will find the fuse. pull it out and your alarm system will be disable. you can also cut the red wire and put some electrical tape if you can't locate the fuse.
