He can use the camera video if he wants to. He can't sue you for a brand new Mercedes and that is stupid for him to think he can. He can sue you for the amount of damages as priced by the lowest priced estimate. He can't sue you for any more than that. So, in the meantime you need to take pictures of his vehicle and the damages and go to DIFFERENT places to get estimates of the damage costs. He might be able to sue you - but that would depend on a judge's opinion. If you are shown on a video but behind the car (you are visible being on the same side the damage but the camera positioning doesn't show your hands or the key actually going across the car) the judge might say there is no proof that you did it. On the other hand the judge might say that is enough proof. My advice is don't do anything unless he does something first. Don't offer any money either until he has proof that he is going to take you to court.
