I don't feel sorry he got received better treatment then the people he killed. The death he received was more human then the deaths he gave to others. No sad feeling for Saddam.
I felt sorry for him from the first day of his trial. Not for the fact that I support his actions, but more to the fact that he didn't really get a fair trial at all. All the people who supposevely to give him assistance didn't do their work optimally just because of their individual views on tribal misconceptions. If any, he should've gotten his last wish which was to be executed by the firing squad, as he was a man of the military.
I don't feel as sorry for him as I feel for the rest of us. What kind of people are we to tape someones death and watch it for our curiosity or enjoyment. Did anyone watch the execution of any of America's worst criminals, probably not because to my knowledge it was not shown. Saddam deserved what he got if that is the punishment for his crime in his country but I feel after someones death they deserve enough human respect to not have a picture or video of their dead body shown all over the world. No matter what Saddam did he has family as did his sons and their families do not deserve to see all of this. I am for the death penalty as long as it does not become a circus for people to enjoy and if there is a line we do not cross in this country when someone is given the death penalty that line should not ever be crossed just because it happens somewhere else in the world.
He is a heel but people just cheer for him cause the fans like him and respect him to much to boo him.
I feel sorry for him. I feel a life sentence would have been a harsher punishment. Also, the video you watched may be a fake or just be another filmer at the scene. The one I saw, though poor quality, showed Saddam falling through the trap door and the camera did not turn away.
