i have had a new heating system fitted which was fine until i took some rediators off to decorate and then put them back on. the pressure has dropped to zero and my engineer is away on holiday! can anyone help me adjust it, it is supposed to be easy but i cant find any mention in the manual...
Your system is air bound. When you opened the heating loop you allowed air to enter the system. You must bleed the system down until flow is constant without air sputtering or bubbles. Best thing to do is call in a plumber or a heating specialist.
First of all you will have to balance the boiler, there will be a mark on the pressure guage, to do this you will have to open the water valve and let some water into the system whilst bleeding the rads, case of; let water into system, bleed rad, let some more water into system etc, you will have to refer to the instruction manual as to where the valve is but it won't be too hard to locate.
Worcester Bosch Greenstar 25si
I also have a Worcester Greenstar boiler, the outlet pipe has leaked outside since the boiler was switched on. The engineers tried to seal all the connection pipes on outside, the dripping started again the following day. I rang the company who advised me it was nothing to worry about and they would have a look at the leak when the service was carried out. As for the pressure being topped up, you will have a Instruction manual for your boiler, follow the instructions for RE-PRESSURING using the HOSE that should be connected or hanging somewhere around your boiler. It is simple enough to carry out but if not confident you could ask someone you know, who has a condensing boiler, to top up to max 1.5 bar mark.
