Question:

How do I get my cat to stay off my counter?

My cat is around nine years old and she used to belong to a very elderly lady who allowed her to jump up on the counters in her houseSo she is continuing the behavior in my house and I am trying to break her of itI don't want to get rid of her because my baby loves herAny help I can get would be much appreciated.

Answer:

the cats will have to come out if there is no foodif you cant catch them make sure they cant get foodAnd they will not stay there if there is no foodI would imagine the kittens would die as they're mum wont be able to feed them without foodSo depends where she is from and where she eats atif you can catch the kittens you could tame them and re-home thembut as feral they havent got a good life ahead of them.
Try putting some aluminum foil on the counter(store brand is ok) This weekend my parents were packing their suitcases and the cat kept on jumping into the luggage We put tin foil on the top of the bags and the cat didn't even try to jump into the suitcase! Also, cats do not like citrus Cut up some large grapefruits, oranges, and maybe put an air freshener on the counter with citrus scent (I hope you don't get ants, but try it to see if it works)
