I have to deep fry two turkeys on ThursdayI can only fry one at a timeThen, I have to drive an hour to the dinner place, probably waiting another hour before we eat How can I keep the turkeys warm during the waiting time? Would it be better to carve them before or after the arrival?
Wrap them well in aluminum foil or plastic wrap( to keep in moisture, juices, oil) and put them in paper grocery bags ( helps keep airflow around the turkey to a minimum)Close the top of the bag as well as possible(tape or staple)Then place in an ice chestCarve them at the destination as it will help keep the meat from drying out which can be a problem with fried turkey anywayIf an ice chest is unavailable wrap them with five or six sheets of newspaper before putting them in the paper bagsIf you don't have the large paper bags just wrap them with a couple of towels What you want to do is keep air from moving around them and hold the air that is close to them as still as possibleNewspaper and towels make pretty good insulationDon't worry about the newspaper inkIt is non toxicIf you don't want to use plastic wrap or aluminum foil just wrap the container you carry them in well with news paper and towels.
Oreo sell the crumbs only in a box for crusts same as graham cracker crumbs but I agree chocolate and lime is not a complimentary for taste.
Key lime and chocolate aren't going to be complimentary to each other, I'll tell you that right offWhen using Oreo's as a crust, you leave them intact and crush themThe filling acts as a binder to hold the crust together I would recommend a shortbread or similar crust, even the vanilla Oreos, not chocolate Christopher K.
If you leave the filling will give more humidity to the recipeBut will work fine anywayI don't have the exact recipe here but try this: Oreo's base with a little bit of peach juice to mix them, add philadelphia cheese on a second layer and finish it with strawberry jamSimple and very nice!
I agree with Fish 100%You are essentially making a Graham Cracker Crust with oreosWithout the filling both need butter.
