Question:

How do tanks and bulldozers turn left or right ?

I'm just wondering since they don't have wheels like normal vehicles and what they have don't seem capable to turn.

Answer:

they slow (gentle turn) or stop the tracks on the side they hope to turn to. if they really want to turn they can accelerate the outside track as well. if they REALLY want to turn, you can reverse the inside track and accelerate the outside track. if you've ever seen a track vehicle do a 'cyclone' this is what they are doing.
My guess is like paddling a canoe. It turns on the side where the force/paddle is applied.
Similar to how a forklift does (even though bulldozers runs on Chained wheels). Left steer for left turn, right steer for right turn, clutch to shift gears (heavy vehicles still have gears, okay?), brake for braking and accelerator for acceleration.
Just like your feet! If you stop your left foot and keep walking with your right foot your going to have to turn left. The same principle applies for any track run vehicle. You apply the brake and stop the track on the left and the track on the right keeps going therefor making the vehicle turn left. Hope this helped.
The driver apply the brakes to one belt only. The tank turns to that side on which the belt is slowed down. Hope this helps
