ok so i want to put a lock on my door. alls i have is the one thats on the doorknob and u just twist it and it comes unlocked from the inside very easily. my son always goes runs outside by himself hes only two. i want a good lock but i cant exactly drill on the metal door. and i rent i cant replace the door . what can i dogt; any suggestions?
I'm sure if you were to ask your landlord if you could put a barrel bolt lock on your door he would allow it. To install one makes minimal holes and you could put it high enough that your son could not reach it. They cost relatively little, so you could leave it there when/if you moved, and your landlord would actually be getting an upgrade, ( additional lock) so I can't see the he could/would complain. Meanwhile, you would have the peace of mind that your son would be safe.
