Question:

How do you become a real-estate agent?

I'm thinking about going into real-estate after college. What are the steps to get there..like, what would be smart to major in in college. Do you go to school especially for real-estate?Also, is it ok not to major in business and still go to school for real-estate?What is an average salary for a real-estate agent?I'm really unsure about how to get there.-thanks!

Answer:

YOU HAVE TWO VERY TRUTHFULL AND HONEST ANSWERS,BUT LET ME ADD A LITTLE MORE. WITH ALL IT IS UPS AND DOWNS, IT IS THE BEST BUSINESS TO BE IN IF YOU ARE ,BRIGHT,DEDICATED,SOCIAL,AND RISK TAKER.YOU CAN COME WORK WITH/FOR ME,FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTION,HAVE INTEGRITY,AND I PROMISE YOU MAKE MORE MONEY THAN A BRAIN SURGEON.
Mellis said it all. Just a little more on a personal note, to succeed in real estate you will find yourself without a life. Especially when you first start. Take Economics and Government in college, it will help. Good luck!
You don't must be 21, or a minimum of no longer in a few states. I obtained my truly property license on the age of nineteen and feature been/and might be running as an assistant till this summer time while I will begin being a whole time truly property agent. Most most probably a manufacturer will take you in, however maintain in brain that promoting costly residences and gaining appreciate might be more difficult than you at the beginning imagined, chiefly if you're simply promoting as a part activity.
Every state is different, but most have a bureaucracy that handles the licensing of Real Estate Agents, and some states have their real estate transactions handled through attorneys. In California, all you need to be a Real Estate Salesperson is a license from the Department of Real Estate. You do not need a college degree. Rather, you need 3 college level courses and then to pass the state-issued test. There is a higher standard to become a broker. If you become a salesperson, you must necessarily work for a broker. There are many different skill sets used in Real Estate, but not any particular major (again, no college degree needed). Writing skills, people skills, analytical skills, sales skills, and common sense are all good to have! Finally, Real Estate Agents do not make a salary or regular paycheck. They earn money as they successfully complete each transaction, on commission. In times when the market is hot, it is possible to make quite a bit of money, but in a bad market, it can be extremely difficult to pay the bills. Many Real Estate Agents have left the industry during these difficult times to find a steady paycheck in another industry.
