Question:

How do you choose what portions of the Bible to accept? Or should we execute adulterers?

The Bible advocates executing adulterers:If a man commits adultery with the wife of his neighbor, both the adulterer and the adulteress shall be put to death. Lev. 20:10**The Bible also forbids wearing mixed fabrics (cotton-polyester blends or cotton-wool blends):You shall keep my statutes. You shall not let your cattle breed with a different kind; you shall not sow your field with two kinds of seed; nor shall there come upon you a garment of cloth made of two kinds of stuff. Lev. 19:19**And Jesus told his followers to obey the Jewish law.For truly I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kkingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Matt. 5:18-19**But ALL Christians pick what parts to follow. How do you choose?

Answer:

Copper is FAR to expensive to have been used all the way out to the street. The city sewer line is cast iron, and usually the line from the house to the street is, also. I would be really surprised to see that the drain lines are copper, I've seen only cast iron and plastic (PVC) for drain lines, because they are so wide. (Copper for fresh water in, because it's under more pressure).
The main drain (going to the street) in older houses is normally ceramic thatswhy you hear of tree roots breaking through the pipe and creating blockage. When adding a line going to your main drain they like to use plastic piping with a rubber slip. You need to create a three way on the main pipe (with plastic piping/rubber slips) andthen run a plastic pipe to your desired addition then re filling the area with concrete. Remember most copper pipes are used as supply pipes and you cast iron pipes are used as drainage pipes.
When Jesus came to earth, it was the beginning of a time of grace. He became the propitiation of sin and the Lamb sacrifice of the Old Testatment. There was no more need to shed blood. Romans Chapters 10-13, explain the covenants of Jewish law in the New Testament. There were still punishments in place under both Judaic and Roman law. Crucifixtion was for criminals found guilty by Rome. Looking a Acts 10, after the ressurection Jesus called out to Peter and told him not to do as the Pharisees did. ( Matthew 23 and Luke13) They had complied 600 additional laws to God's original 10. Jesus added one and that was to love one another.
Well, most Christians have personal agendas they use the Bible to push and justify. That's how you choose your parts to follow. Seriously, I'd be more considered with just accepting Jesus and God and trying to live a good life, like treating people right and doing what's moral, than I would be with the exact wording of the Bible, New or Old Testament.
*shaking head* How many times to we have to tell you. Jesus overruled that old timey crap. It is a clear cut case of Son overruling Father. Jesus trumps god. If you listen to Jesus you don't have to listen to God. I think you still can put homosexuals to death because I don't think Jesus overrulled God on that account, but I'm not certain. Edit: I stand corrected. Thank you. I didn't want to stone any homosexuals as I have nothing against them. NH Baritone I hope you know that I am only funnin'. You are FAR FAR more learned on the subject than I. I was just trying to paraphrase some of the answers I have read regarding the subject.
