Our white lacquer baby grand piano, with matching bench, was purchased new in 1992It has been in our living room, away from direct sunlight, and in stable temperatures with no humidityThe finish has yellowedIs there any way to get the white back? Can I do it myself, or is there a specialist who I can call? Any help is very much appreciated!
The only flaw I found in these instructions is about covering the keys with painters tape and leaving the tape until you are finishedIf you do that, you'll end up pulling paint off the pianoAlways remove painters tape while the paint is still wetYou might also find an easier way to protect the keys from paintYou might be able to tape paper or aluminum foil over themWhatever you use to protect the keys, tho, make sure you remove the protection each time you apply a coat of paint or polyurethane - while still wetIf you leave the tape until dry, you will peel the paint or polyurethane off the pianoGood luck-
