Question:

How do you cook a pre-cooked spiral cut ham?

How to cook a precooked spiral cut ham? It's a 9 pounder and it says to cook it for 10 - 12 minper pound at 325 degreesI only wanted 5 pounds, but to get the sale at $1.98 a pound I had to get a 9 pounder Can I do that in the slow cooker, on low, and how long do you think it would take? It also says to wrap it in foil for the ovenDo I have to do that also in the slow cooker? I'm no Betty Crocker by any meansI've never done a ham beforeI'm a bit nervous.

Answer:

wrap the ham in aluminum foil and put on a cookie sheet; cook in oven for 90 minutes at 325 degreesIt should be fineI have never cooked a ham in a slow cooker, but it would take longer and would heat more from the bottom upI would use the ovenYou are mainly just heating it as it is already precookedYou can cook it early as it doesn't have to be hot when served; most hams are not.
