First make sureyou have a wooden pickaxe. Mine some stone and make a stone pick and a furnace. Then with the stone pick mine at least one block of coal and find some iron ore. Put the iron ore in the furnace, with the coal as the fuel, to get iron ingots. Craft and iron pickaxe with the iron ingots the same way you'd craft any other pickaxe, except with iron as the primary material.
for ur tail lights i would check ur brake switch its on ur brake pedal mybe burnt up the connecter and you may have bad wires going back to turn single bulbs

Well first off you are going to need to craft a stone pickaxe to mine the iron which is a brownish color, it is the most common mineral next to coal. you then have to have 3 iron ore and to have a furnace which is by putting 1 stone in every block in the crafting table except the middle then you need to get a piece of coal or wood and smelt the iron and you will get an iron ingot so you just put it in the format of a stone or wood pickaxe and craft. Sounds like you have a short someplace. I would take the car to an auto electric shop as they have the tools to find it.
