Question:

How do you get the sparkle out of glitter?

I found this shirt with an awesome logo on it, but it seems the paint used on it is mixed with glitter. Rather than try to get the glitter off the shirt, I was wondering if there was some clear substance that could be applied just so it doesn't shine in light. Thanks!

Argument from Ignorance Fail
Photons. Did you not ever see the science toy that looks like a lightbulb with the vanes inside that are painted black on one side and white on the other and wonder how they spin?
If there is a shower near the detector the steam will set off an ionization type smoke detector. If this is the case try a photoelectric smoke detector at this location. They are less sensitive because they require larger particulates to set them off. I would relocate your existing detector closer to your furnace and dryer. A smoke detector IS NOT a carbon monoxide detector! I would also recommend purchasing one of these for the reasons listed in this forum. Good Luck!
Olga- how are you- i hope you are feeling well. You really do not think that all atheists are scientists do you? I am sure you are far too intelligent to make that mistake. That said I do not think you need to be a scientist to understand this as it is very basic physics. Light is a form of radiation, when it meets an object it is either then reflected or absorbed depending on the colour of the object, When the Sun shines you feel the heat against your skin, so there is an interaction between the light hitting you creating heat, solar panels work on the same principle. Now if i launch my spaceship and instead of using solar panels that are heavy and cumbersome, i can instead have a sail made of highly reflective material, think perhaps aluminium foil but more robust, this will be much bigger than my panels, it could be a thousand feet square, would weigh less to get into arbit and will therefore save on the initial fuel. The build up of energy across this sail would eventually build up huge amounts of energy that I could use for propulsion, and as the build up would be exponential I would be able to use more power to go faster, and would have potential to build up speeds way in excess of those allowed by conventional means, and I would not run out of my energy supply due to the billions of stars and other sources of light. As for photons having no mass, I am sure you are familiar with electricity, this is created by the movement of electrons, for most purposes these are considered to have no mass as well, yet they give up an awful lot of power. Radio waves are part of the electromagnetic spectrum, and as such have no mass either, but you can hear the radio and your television. Photons are both wave energy and a particle.
F*cking solar cookers - how do they work?! Same basic concept, yes? Demon breath, I'm betting. That just ain't natural, so what else would it be?
