How do you make a magnetic substance into a magnet?
hmmm i guess when u say magnetic substance you are implying that a material which can be permanently or partially magnetised and can be changed into a magnet for e.g steel or iron :) You can magnetise a substancee such as iron partially to make it become a very strong magnet by applying a large voltage to a soft iron core :) this will arrange the electrons in a particular order and will therefore produce the magnetism As the current is switched off, the soft iron core will lose its magnetism You can also magnetise a material such as steel partially by just placing it in contact with another magnet. notice how pins become magnetised when they are attracted to a magnet. You can also magnetise steel permanently by performing a series of rotations around the material. or by using a current carrying coil and wrapping a series of loops around the steel bar.
If you were using a magnetic substance, it would already be a magnet, otherwise how can you call it a magnetic substance?
A magnetic substance already has a magnetic field.A magnet is another magnetic substance with a stronger magnetic field. When the two Fields intersects they lock in forming a magnetic force. The magnetic Energy is the Result of the product of the magnetic power and the time that the magnetic power is applied to a magnetic mass. A magnet get its Magnetic Energy for the same reason that the Earth gets its Gravitational Energy. Example; a very small stone is dropped from a helicopter to a gravitational mass called Earth. AS the stone falls to the Ground it gets stuck to the Earth. At that point , the Gravity fields have intersected and Gravity force is produced between the stone and the Earth. The same scenario occurs between a magnet and a magnetic mass.The only difference is that the Magnetic field is in a different configuration than the Gravitational field.Never the less both fields are Space phenomena.
