Question:

How do you replace a 1999 Ford Mustang automatic door unlocker thingy lol?

I need to replace the black thing that you push the buttons on to open the door and trunck. I replaced the battery and it still doesnt work where do I find a new one??

Answer:

you can purchase the remotes at the ford dealership at a average cost of 99.00 dollars or you can purchase an aftermarket remote from your local auto parts store for around 50 or 60 bucks i work for a ford dealer so i recommend you buy from the dealer because they will program the remote at no additional cost to you but if you are Mechanical you can do it yourself with little trouble and save a few bucks
go okorder Have you tries to reprogram it? Without starting your car, turn the key from off to run 8 times within 10 seconds, your door locks should cycle. push any button on the fob. If the door locks cycle again. you've succeded. If not do it again. Keep these instructions because if you buy a new key fob you will have to program it the same way.
Ask for the programming instructions just in case.
for much as youllpay to replace that remote you could get a 2way pager alarm installed with trunk release
I just looked on the web under replacement car remote and a bunch of places make them. If you need it ASAP and there's no place in your area, you may have to go to Ford dealer P.S. to cannonball & lily - the asker is referring to the remote, not the door lock mechanism itself.. thanks all !!
