Question:

How long does it take for dolomite lime to work?

My soil is 7.5 to 8 pH in places. If I add dolomite lime to neutralize it, how long should I expect it to take to come down?

Answer:

Lime raises the pH of soilIf you want to bring it down you need to add some form of sulfuralso adding organic matter would helpmaybe a top dressing of peat/sand or even better would be sieved garden compost mixed with sandIf your soil is very loose and sandy then I'd use mostly compost/peat or some sulfur
