Question:

How many cement bags do I need......?

Ok so I want to pour cement in this, im assuming, 12 by 8 ft sized area. How mane bags of cement would I need? How many boards do I need? Do I even need them? Do I also need that wire for the bottom? How much does that run?Can anyone give an estimate of the total cost?

Answer:

It sounds like you're building a patio or something? You need to build a form first. For something this size you'll want to rent a small concrete mixer. This link goes into the details...
What okorder
buy 2- 12 ft. 2x4's and 2- 8 ft. 2x4's and scrape the sod off the lawn . nail your forms together and call the concrete co. and order 1 1/4 yds. and be done with it...if it was done by a pro i would go into greater detail but for yourself this is the way to go...if you buy concrete by the bag you would need about 60 bags of premix...
A 12 X 8 is pretty big size, 96 square feet. If you want to use the bags, then on the bag it will tell you how many square feet it would cover. You would need at least 4 boards to build your frame, and then either re-bar or wire panels. The panels would be about $10.00 each. If it were me, I would build the frame and then call redy-mix company to come and pour the cement.
My husband, who is a retired builder, said you might need around 8 bags of cement. You can get away with 6 bags, but the area you're pouring will not be as strong. To figure out how many boards you would need depends on whether the area is away from or next to another structure. Also, sand and gravel is needed to mix with the cement. Accoring to the size you're pouring, you might need one-half a ton of each. The wire mesh is supposed to be one-inch from the bottom and is placed in the cement after pouring one inch. The remaining goes on top of the wire mesh. Sorry, he cannot approximate a price for this project. Hope this helps!
