Question:

How many lines does the stepper motor have?

I have three kinds of stepping motors, four lines, five lines and six lines. How can I use a multimeter to distinguish them?

Answer:

Two-phase condition,The 22 is a phase, tap end resistance is the ends of the half, four or six lines can be divided into five lines, the situation is more complex, there may be five phase motor or two-phase two-phase just two taps together, five phase five lines all through the resistor. The line is far higher, if you can measure the inductance is to say.
Stepper motor phase number: refers to the motor coil groups, the current commonly used in two-phase, three-phase, four phase, five phase stepper motor. The motor phase number is different, and the step angle is different. The step angle of the general two-phase motor is 0.9 DEG /1.8 degrees, the three-phase is 0.75 DEG /1.5 degrees, and the five phase is 0.36 degrees /0.72 degrees. In the absence of subdivision drive, the user mainly depends on the choice of different number of stepper motors to meet the requirements of their own step angle. If you use a subdivision drive, the number of phases will become meaningless and the user can change the step angle just by changing the fine fraction on the drive.
There are 4 lines, 6 lines, 8 lines. Usually 4 lines, A+, A-, B+, B-.A three-phase has 3 lines, 6 lines. Usually 3 lines, A, B, C.The five phase has 5 lines and 10 lines. Usually 5 lines, A, B, C, D, E.None of the above contains ground wire, and some motor manufacturers will pull a ground wire out.Number of stepping motors: refers to the number of wires to be removed from the motor.
