I honestly have never heard the answer to that question. That might be a hard statistic to even verify. So many small farms are out of operation and many times after the barn is tore down, or falls down the silo will be standing there. No longer in use, but still a silo. I have done a number of agriculture surveys but don't remember ever having to report the number of silos on the farm. I'm not sure the answer you are looking for exists, but would be interested in knowing the number, too.
Way too many uprights and way way too many Big Blue incinerators that destroy feed. With today's larger operations there are more practical ways to handle forage than upright silos.
