How might you link two electric hoists so that neither will run without the other?

Thinking of using two hoist to raise/lower a 45' long load (rolled up gym mat). Don't want one to run if the other should quit.

Answer:

electrically, just run them off the same switches. Better if you use some sort of current sensors that sense if one motor stalls, and then use that signal to stop both of them. A bit complicated, involving relays and electronics. Best would be a mechanical link of some sort, but can't think of one just now.
