Question:

how much can i get scraping copper?

i have 5 small copper pipes that i want to scrap. how much could i get per pound.

Answer:

well without actually knowing the purity and weight of the copper i would guess anywhere from 2-20 $ but im not a 100% sure. my cousin use to scrap metal and made pretty good money. he told me the best things made of copper are the erns (the things you put ashes in, also flower pots used for graves) and old a/c units are worth alot in copper
I scrapped some copper pots and only got less than $2.00. I could have made more selling them at a yard sale. Take it to a recycling place and see what they give you. They will probably ask for your drivers license.
I scrap every week. #2 copper = $1.90 per pound. #1 copper = $2.25 per pound. Burnt copper = $1.85 per pound. Wire with insulation = $1.8 per pound. These are the prices last week at the scrap yard I go to. The prices change every week and each scrap yard pays different amounts.
around $1.00 to $1.25 a pound. brite copper is around$2.25 a pound. Like new electric copper wire
