You haven't said if it's a 4 or a twin. Assuming correct maintenance, on a four especially this is peanuts mileage.

$3.535/lb. is the current price for copper ingots on the New York COMEX . That contact is for March delivery of 25,000 lbs. Spot prices are not quoted unless you actually call up a dealer. Prices for smaller quantities are higher. If you are looking to purchase just a few pounds you will have to do your own searching because prices are highly variable due to quantity, shape(ingots, bars, plates etc.), purity, freight rates etc.
Can't see changing the oil would be a factor. When was the last time you cleaned or changed the air filter? Is the choke stuck slightly on? How is the bike running otherwise?
