I found a really cute old sofa at the flea market for $20. I'm thinking about going back to get it, but the fabric is pretty messed up and kind of smells like cigarettes - what would it cost to get it re-upholstered? I'm just looking for the cheapest job since my cat will scratch it anyway. Just a slipcover won't work because of the smell.
well, i would say that the cost of upholstry depends on the fabric you are using and the craftsmenship, you can also do the upholstering yourself if you try to learn how its done as its fairly simple and you just need the right equipment and a fair hand to do it
Minimum $300, depends on fabric chosen, whether structure is solid, what additional fill it needs, and labor costs in your area. Could be double that. The smell could be not only in the fabric but the padding underneath.
