Question:

how much does it cost to replace turbocharged 2.0 L 16-valve DOHC 4G63T wiring harness?

I am thinking about buying a 1997 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder with a first gen Turbo motor swap, but the wiring harness needs replaced. Is this hard to do yourself? how much would it cost to have it done at a shop?

Answer:

well i can tell you that unless you know what your doing i wouldnt do it yourself. there is a lot that could go wrong with it and could hurt your car. i would check around and find a used one first, a dealership will charge you a decent amt to buy a new one. but i think your better off having a friend or someone help you that knows what they are doing. you should be able to find a used one on a site like craigslist for around 50. you could take it to a dealership to have it put on, they will probably charge you around 100 bucks (going on 65 and hour)
DOHC implies there is two camshafts in line with financial business enterprise of cylinders. A V6/V8/V12 DOHC could have 4 camshafts. desirable suited me if im incorrect, there is not any engine that makes use of a million cam for exhaust with one exhaust valve in line with cylinder and a million camshaft for intake with one intake in line with cylinder, in line with financial business enterprise. Its inefficient. there is not any such ingredient as a sixteen valve, DOHC V8, in simple terms 32 valve DOHC V8s, sixteen valve SOHC V8s, and sixteen valve V8 with the cam interior the block. a 16valve dohc is a 4 cylinder
The wiring harness most people refer to connects the car's ECU (computer) to every part of the car that the ECU needs to see. Every sensor, every gauge, everything. A lot of it is bundled into cables that contain wires that go elsewhere. It's a lot of digging and splicing and getting dirty. A typical shop or dealership would probably need at least 8 hours with the car to do a thorough job. A typical DSM'er who knows the electrical system could probably do it in about the same amount of time, but wouldn't charge you as much. We mainly work for beer. :)
