for dirty copper and clean I have ALOT trying to find out if is worth cleaning.
Copper prices on the exchanges are $3.45 a pound for new copper . Scrap yards are paying roughly $2.00 a pound in Ohio for number 1 clean copper and for bare bright they will pay up to $2,45 a pound . Copper has 3 grades #1 which is clean , no paint , or solder on it , #2 is copper that is painted , has a connector or valve on it , and #3 is usually roofing copper and thin sheathing . Wire is sold as uncleaned or stripped and bare brite and the prices are all ove rthe board .
I think the website below is for new copper, not recycled. Check with your local recycler in the yellow pages.
