Question:

How much to replace entire pipe system in a house?

I live in an area of the country that has numerous very inexpensive houses(under 10,000 dollars) on the market, but many of them have had all their copper pipes torn out by crackheads who go and sell the pipe. What kind of cost would I be looking at to re-pipe an entire house with CVPC pipe? It would likely be a multi-family house(ie a duplex or an upstairs/downstairs) setup, since those would provide more income versus a single family house. Is this something that someone could learn from a DIY book and save a lot of money versus hiring a plumber, or is this a job that needs a plumber to handle? What would be an average cost for a 1500-2000 square foot 2 family house, including parts and labor for a plumber? Any help would be appreciated---I need to know how much repairs would costs before I bid on a house(s), and for the houses I am looking at, virtually all of them will be lacking pipes.

Answer:

Borrow a rigidity pump and verify for leaks. With the engine chilly get rid of the radiator cap and hook up the pump. Inflate to 40 5 PSI, in case you have a substantial leak it won't get that best, and a small leak will bypass to 40 5 even though permit it stand and watch the gauge. If it loses rigidity interior of half-hour of status you have a foul gasket or cracked head/block, or leaking freeze plug, or different anomaly. earlier you do this insure all the air has been bled from the equipment, air gaps could reason overheating besides.

thats sewer pipe technology/what few people realize is that the efi is 3 systems/cold start/warm up and final run/the first two use the most gas/if you cool the air it takes longer in those cycles and hence/more gas to warm/unless you can verify the super chip dont buy it
I recently replaced all the copper in a 1200 sf one story ranch style house we're re-habbing. (so a little smaller than yours) Figure $1.50 per ft for pipe, $1.50 per fitting (corners ,tee's, caps, etc.) and $6.00 per shut-off valve. Add about $150 for tools, including a good torch that can also handle MAPP gas and an insulator when soldering next to wood. Did ours in two days for just under $1000. Although I'd seen some plumbing done in years past I learned most of the basics from a how-to book and a little soldering practice before starting on the real thing and am now on our 4th project. I've shy'd away from plastic piping simply because I'm familiar with copper and know I can trust it to last. Good Luck
