Question:

How to cool 3 watt LEDs?

I want to build a light bar using 25- 3 watt LEDsI was going to use an aluminum channel to enclose them then add extra aluminum pieces on the back to cool itOver all length will be 48quot; wide and 1quot; highEither I was going to do a bunch of aluminum fins passively or take square 1quot; aluminum tube and put 2 aluminum flats inside with holes in the flat aluminum and seal both ends and do a water cooled type heatsink that goes to a 12v pump and a transmission cooler mounted under the hood cooled with PC fansWould this cool enough to save the LEDs.

Answer:

If the LEDs don't require special cooling when mounted in free air, you have a chance to cool them in the arrangement you describedOne method may be to cut wide slots for air flow in the top and bottom of the channelAnother possible approach would be to blow outside air through the channelThis will work fine, if you have adequate air flow.
You have to roast it once in a while i prefer using hairline roasts but you do you
