My cat has urinated about 7 times on the same spot on our sofa. Every time he does that, I just scrub it with detergent and water or sometimes bleach. But this time, the odor won't go away... Pls help.. tnx..
Try some woolite rug pet cleaner..it comes in a pump bottle. I buy it at walmart. Spray it scrub it ..then clean with clear water. Then i spray a little fabric spray. euzit is what i use on the spot when it is dry..KEEP THE CAT AWAY FROM THE SPOT TILL IT IS COMPLETELY DRY. As someone else said..there must be a reason why the cat is peeing there..you should take it to a vet to rule out any physical problems. I am assuming he is fixed???
You have a real challenge, since the odor got into the foam of the cushions. I am providing a link to several methods that do work. My preference is to use vinegar-water. You can be sloppy with it, since you really need to get the solution into the foam.
Try Nature's Miracle. It works for my rug, maybe it'll work for your sofa. Though I would probably just get rid of the sofa. If the cat can still smell the urine, it will keep coming back to that same spot. Have you taken the cat to the vet to see why it's peeing outside the litterbox? It could be a bladder infection, or maybe he's just unhappy with you right now. If it's one of those problems, simply cleaning or getting rid of the sofa won't work. He'll just pee on something else instead.
WARNING: DO NOT USE BLEACH, it cause it to urinate more in the same spot. I suggest you use X-O odor remover, Soak it really well and let dry. X-O odor remover, you can search online and get it delivered. It's an enzyme, colorless and odorless and completely safe. good luck
Each time your cat urinates on the couch, it soaks into the cushion, further further. My advice to you, would be to call Stanley Steemer ask if they can clean the sofa for you. They may have chemicals that will eliminate the odor. If I was you, I'd go to the Pet Store buy a bottle of spray that smells tastes like bitter apples. A pet store employee will know the name of it. Spray it daily on the sofa once it's been cleaned. It will not harm your cat but he will think twice about peeing there. You need to figure out why he's not using his litter box. There's a good reason. As long as you clean out the litter box 2-3 times a day, he'll use it. Make sure the litter box remains in one place at all times.
