Question:

How to determine the range of a DP transmitter for measuring the level of a tank?

I have a Tank in which Dolomite is Stored i need to Install DP transmitter to measure the level of the fluid in the tank( Dolomite). what is the correct way to determine the range of the Transmitter???

Answer:

Well Dolomite S.G. is 2.85 so you would need to know the max pressure that the full tank would be (you haven't told us how high the tank is) But basically use the max pressure and the minimum pressure i.e. the highest level in the tank and the lowest level in the tank. Just use the density 2.85 g/c. So if you had a 15 ft tank the max pressure would be: 180 of dolomite dolomite is 2.85 times heavier than water 180*2.85513 of water there is 27.7 inches of water in 1psi 513/27.718.52 psi. I hope I helped
