Question:

How to fix smell in cloths?

My two shirts starts smelling strongly. First I thought its because of Rainy and humid weather. I washed them many times in different detergents, but it does not work. The material is 60% polyester and 40% cotton. Can somebody help me in this?

Answer:

maybe try a baking soda laundry detergent and also use liquid fabric softener.
Wash using 1 cup baking sod added to the drum with your standard detergent on cold then rinse suing white vinegar in place of fabric softener (1 cup) then hang outside in the sunshine and fresh air to dry. Should smell heavenly after this treatment.
Iron them really well with a steam iron have it ste to max steam and keep the iron moving at all times if that don't cut it the lemon idea if you let it soak for awhile will leave them smelling much better but they will now smell like lemon. the problem comes from putting them in the dryer when they are soiled the heat from the dryer sets the smell in the polyester
