Question:

How to get cat hair out of my sofa easily?

Well we bought a new sofa and i cant get my cat off it! And now, its covered with cat hair .I tried vacuming but its not off completely. So any suggestions ? And also no matter how many times i move her off the sofa she still climbs back,so any advice to keep her off the sofa would also be appreciated!

Answer:

It takes some elbow grease but is effective in removing the hair. Your cat also needs regular grooming to keep shedding at a minimum. I cannot believe everyone is suggesting spraying water at the cat for going on the sofa. Is that not your cat's home as well? What if you lived somewhere where you were hosed for touching the furniture? You need to make your house cat-friendly if you're going to have a cat. Another thing you can do is put a cover like a sheet or afghan on the sofa. You can pull that off and wash it. I tried the spray method for training my cats. All I accomplished was making my cats skittish of me. That is the most over-used, ineffective, lazy things you can do. I say lazy because people just sit there with the bottle ready to spray across the room at the cat so they don't have to get up and deal with the cat. Poor kitties out there.
a lint roller , or if you wet a cloth , squeeze it practically dry and wipe down the sofa , or get wide selotape and use that to take off the hair!! to be honest the damp cloth works best for me!!
i'm not sure what it's called,my sister has one that she bought at wal-mart. It's a hair remover that looks like a squeegie, she says it works awsome and they have a new couch and love seat as well as three cats lol. I use a blanket for my cats to sleep on,it is always the same blanket and now if I don't want my cats on the couch or chairs etc. I can just put 'thier' blanket where I want and that is where they will sleep...Good luck
Use a rubber glove and rub the settee with it and the hair will be lifted. As for the cat going on the sofa there is no way to stop it other than spraying it with a little water when it goes on the couch
It basically attracts hair and lint to itself really really well. I cant recommend this enough, they are really cheap too! Also for less shedding, I would recommend getting your cat the furminator brush, its pretty pricey, but worth every penny...it minimized shedding for my cat by A LOT! It takes out huge amounts of loose hair that will otherwise get left on your couch. Good luck!
