How to install cement backer board in a shower?

Answer:

What is there now? No info. If there is tile, you got to break them off. then find the studs and screw the backerboard to the studs like plywood. Then a coat of latex type rubber with a fibre is put over the seams in backerboard Now tiling is applied.
i use an arrow head type of ceramic tile drill to pre drill the holes, normal drill bits will go blunt. If you need to cut it use a tct jigsaw blade. Also make sure that the sheets are flat. I use dry lining screws as they don't rust I once made the mistake of using sheets that had been stored incorrectly, each one had a kink which could not be pulled out by screwing
Install like drywall except use backer board screws. You can seal the joints. If going over a sub-floor you can use an adhesive between the sub-floor and the backer board.
Hi, I'm Nick the Tile Man I like to use Hardi-backer cement board because you can cut it with a circular saw, its much lighter to work with than Durock or Wonder board and its more durable. Make sure you use hardi-backer screws to install the cement board to the walls. No you cannot install cement boards onto the shower floor. You will have to mud it. You can check out my web site for more info.
