Fire alarms are mostly in the higher frequency range. Absorbant open-celled foams or fibrous materials do little for low frequency, but are helpful at higher frequency. A thick blanket is really all the more she should do. If the fire alarm is so loud that this is not enough, Then it would most likely be hazardous to humans as well.
Most likely you can file a police report. You will need to show up at the police station and they will most likely allow you to file. Since you have the license plate number, it will ID the owner of the MC and possibly his insurance company info. Most states will you register your car, you must list the name and policy number of your insurance. But,,,,,with MC, not sure if in all states that insurance is required. Are you sure that the cameras caught this accident? Most parking lots do not have and only near the doors vs in the back lot? And yes, only authorities can get access to any videos. As a former auto claim adjuster, could get copies due to a claim. The good news is that you have an independent witness, meaning he was not involved in this accident, nor does this person know you. (IF), you find out the name of the insurance company of the MC driver, then file a claim for your damages. His company will take a statement from you, the witness and also the MC driver, and then they will determind WHO is at fault.Parking lots are accidents waiting to happen and in many cases, insurance will split fault between both, in other words, either 50/50, or 70/30 etc. But, if he was in the wrong lane going the wrong way, would be in your favor. As for your parents car, do you live with them? If you live with them and not listed on their policy could have a problem, since ALL licensed drivers in a household should be listed, since all people can have access to any vehicle at any time. But, (IF), you do not live with them and had borrowed the car, would not be a problem and would be covered under their policy. Until, you talk to insurance, do not agree to pay for anything. Let the insurance company adjuster decide who is at fault and whoever is, then that insurance company will pay or deny the claim if not at fault. good luck
Yes by all means go to the police dept. Next time report ANY accident while on the scene. Do NOT leave before the police come as that would look like you are to blame was running away.
