This is a typical problem with a 2 story that does not have 2 seperate units (one for up and one for down)Without going into a ton of reason, expenses and rationales I would like to suggest 1 simple solution, just put in some small window units up stairs and keep those rooms closed OFF (doors closed at all times)Use your main unit to just cool down stairs as you are doing nowHeat rises, cool air sinks.
I don't recommend using aluminum foil in the microwave, unless yours happens to specifically tell you to.it can cause sparks, and ultimately a fireYou really need a browning tray that is designed just for microwaves, to get you the grilled-chicken effectOtherwise, if you are hungry now and wanting to eat, just place it on a glass dish or plate, and nuke it that way.it's good to cover with paper towels, to keep it from splattering all over the walls of the microwave.
