Question:

How to make resin at home for school project?

My 8yr has finished making a mummy (my childhood Barbie doll wrapped in layers of tea stained linen strips) for an up and coming project and needs something that looks like resin (as they did back in Pharaoh's time). I thought of making glue and then trying to colour it brown but does anyone have an idea what would make it look more authentic and similar in look to resin?

Answer:

I work as a cashier every summer and it is so much easier just to bag them in the bags that cashier has. Stopping to bag them in the bag that a customer wants them in or doing paper and plastic holds the line up. Plus if you wanted them in your bags why didnt you just bag them as she was ringing up your groceries. I am sure she would have gladly allow you to do it. No offense but sometimes people take that I am the customer crap to far. They forget that the people that are working in the grocery store are human beings to. You are making to big a deal of it. Just bag them your self as she is scanning your groceries. *Edit*- No I dont think it is unfair that she bagged everyone elses. You were probably the only one that wanted them bagged differently. At the market I used to work at all the customers that bought their own bags in always bagged their own stuff, I dont know why they choose to they just did. I even had customers that would help bag their own stuff as I was bagging, if they had a lot of stuff. Its not unheard of. If you dislike that she wouldnt use your bags and you had to bag your own, go to another store. Actions speak louder than words.
If you took the battery out, and it continues to beep, that tells you that it either has a second battery (replace BOTH of them with new),as some units have both a light and a detector function, and each needs its' own batter; or that it is hard-wired into the house's electrical system. In this instance, you still need to replace the battery with a new one. This is so that if there is an electrical outage, you will still be warned by your detector in the event of smoke/fire. If you replace the batteries with NEW ones, and have vac'd any dust/cobwebs out of it, and it should continue to beep, it may be time to replace it. Most of these units last 10 years or less. They are cheap to replace, and could save your life! Don't skimp out by just removing it!
The crusher is always turning. The way they work is there is a little flapper door on the bin that opens so the ice falls out missing the crusher. For some reason that flapper is not opening. First pull and clean the bin. The manual says you are supposed to dump the ice and clean it monthly. Many people never do. If that doesn't fix it there is something wrong with the soloniod in the back, or the electrical to it, that is supposed to lift the lever on the bin that opens the flapper. That will take more expertise to diagnose.
