Question:

how to repair broken copper pipe underground?

5/8 straight pipe,hot water.

Answer:

Take a ruler or measuring tape and measure the actual blade. How come nobody thinks of the easiest solution? Or, drive to the parts store, pop your old blades off and carry them in to hold up to the package. Some of them have rulers printed on the back, but you can line the old blade up end to end with the new one of the right size anyway.
Go with a cheap set. Factory will cost way more with no benefit. Not sure about size.
The pipe is most probably a half inch size (15mm) You will need to fit a half inch compession fitting to repair rit. make sure the pipe is wrapped in protective tape when don, as acids in the soil can cause pin holes in copper pipe.
You would have to dig it up to expose the pipe, then just like an above ground pipe you cut out the broken section, cut a piece of new pipe, sweat a coupling on one end and use a repair coupling (no stops) on the other end to complete the repair.
Dig it up and replace the affected area use a shark bite fittings. If you are not adept with soldering pipes they are simple to use you just push them on the pipe and then your done they work with all types of pipes except galvanized Good luck
