Hey i need to make an ac motor run on time, so i tried to do with an alarm clock so the speaker voltage could be transfered into the motor. But it seems like the speaker voltage doesn't enough to run the motor can anybody please tell me how to increase it :(:( .... am stuck in this school project.Pardon me for the English
AC motors generally run very accurately because they synchronize with 60Hz power. I don't understand why you need to go to such great lengths to make the motor run on time. Rockstar, I think your question is a little too specific and esoteric for strangers on Yahoo Answers to be able to help. I think you're on your own.
AC motors use high current/voltage and you really should avoid experimenting with them and use something made for the job. There are plenty of timer sockets you can buy for this. Put a plug onto the motor, and plug into the wall via the timer. It will work, it is safe and it is cheap!
You amplify the AC from the speaker drive. Rectify, low pass and threshold. This forms a trigger for a monostable, for example, which drives a power device such as a relay, IGBT, SCR/triac etc and switches the AC onto the load for a set duration. Or you could just use digital timer device, the type you plug into a wall socket and set up several running periods per day as required. Some have little pegs for you to set the start and stop times. The completely digital ones are even better. Or you could wake up and switch it on yourself.
