how to souder copper a/c pipes?
you need high pressure silver soder it is special and expensive but do not use regular soder
Solder with silver solder that can be obtained from a welding supply store or maybe Home Depot. Scuff tubing off with emory cloth, place together, heat with propane torch and apply flux or an acid cleaner then reheat and apply the silver solder until it melts. The silver will fill the voids in the joint. let set a few minutes and you are done. Pressure test with an inert gas if possible before filling with freon (r-22) on older systems but a certified tech is supposed to do this.
Unless you haven't been trained, I would not attempt this on my own. This is NOT a DIY. If you are trying to weld a hole in your AC pipes, you will have to recover the freon correctly, etc. This job can take roughly 2 hours if done the right way.
