we have three cats, and three litter boxes throughout our housebut one of my cats (a fixed male, only a year old) for some strange reason likes to poop on the counter when we arent home!!!! its been happeneing way to many times, even when we are homei scoop their litter everyday so it cant be thatwe've tried spray bottles, we yell at him and lock him in the bathroom when it happensbut the very next day he does it againhes such a good, fun cat besides that, but now my parents want to get rid of himdoes any one have any techniques, or something, like any ideas on how to teach him to stop?? there has to be somethingbut thank you!
Clean the counter with a bleach/water solutionCats don't like citrus so use some bits of peel from lemon or orange type fruit then use long strips of aluminum foil sort of crumpled to cover the counterCats hate walking on the stuffYou may have to retrain him for litter box useDrElsey's Cat Attract litter at PetsMart works very wellThere is a booklet in the black/red plastic bag explaining how to retrain and a coupon for the next bagIt's pricey but done right it should only take a few weeks then you can transition back to regular litter.
Just make sure you hold it carefully when you remove it from the oven It may or not sag a bit but as long as you are careful it should be fineYou might want to have a cutting board near to place the pan on if you have to carry it a distance.
